Beautiful old S&W Model 66 came home with me today. Given the serial and stainless front/rear sights, I'm thinking it was born in '71 or '72. Just need a quick cleaning before I torment my brother with pics.
Many thanks for that info. Didn't realize the cut checkering came in that early or that the fleur de lis checkering was pressed. Makes sense when looking at it now.
A beautiful Remington 700 BDL chambered in 30-06. Born in August 1971, it has the old style checkering with fleur de lis pattern. Only missing the front sight hood. Sadly, the old Bushnell Sportview 3-9x40 it came with has an internal issue causing a line right across the crosshairs. Will have...
Was there this past Sunday. Saw a guy ask to see a shotgun that was in the display case. Guy had to hand over his ID before they let him touch the gun. Just another big box store that sells guns/ammo as a sideline.
Hard to miss you with that gorgeous maple B725! Thinking back to the D target at station 4....I've tried it 5 times over the past two weekends and hit it exactly once :xmad:
Seems I'll need to start keeping spares in the bag. This isn't my primary clay gun so I've only shot a few hundred rounds with it since replacing the firing pins last year. Don't see evidence of pitting so an thinking the spring may be a primary cause. Now to figure out a way to replace them...
Had the typical Browning O/U light primer strike on the bottom barrel. Consequently, am replacing both firing pins and hammer springs. Am looking for torque specs for the stock bolt without success. Am guessing 7 ft/lbs give or take which should be about 84 in/lbs. Am I close?
My far better half and son gave me a S&W 629 Classic with 5" barrel and full underlug for Father's Day. Seems they felt I needed a second 629. I won't argue.
Added a Marlin model 57M chambered in .22 magnum to my small lever gun collection. In great shape given its 1967 manufacture date. Love the short throw on the lever. Now to find a replacement for the missing bullseye in the stock.
