I personally leave my front porch light on only. It's enough for me to let me see deep into my front yard, otherwise, thats what my Streamlight TLR1 is for :)

I have a big light on the barn that covers the front yard and drive, but I don't keep any lights on in my house unless I am using them.

And if I get up in the night, I don't need light to get around. I haven't rearranged my furniture in nearly two decades and I can easily navigate this place in darkness.
