I'm new the forums, but I wanted to get the communities take on this. I've been looking to get an AR-15, but with all the recent news and scramble to get them its become $$$$$ and hard to find.

So if you could build your DREAM AR-15, what parts would you use?

I"m not saying its going to be easier to build one than to just hunt for a manufactured one. Thus far all of my stops for parts are all sold out just like they are sold out of AR's.

I bought off the shelf just due to price a couple years ago. It was a bushmaster, not what I wanted but had to have it. I just finished a build of what I wanted with cost a close second factor. I paid $950 for the Bushy, I built for less than $1000. Luckily I finished just before the panic set in!

There is just so much stuff out there. All you can do is a lot of research , talk to a lot of people , and go to gun shows . Try and see what feels best to you.

I just sold my dream one that I built this Summer. If things get better, I will think about building the same thing once again.

I pretty much built my dream AR this summer.
Maybe pickup a 7.5" upper down the road but I'm happy for now. Especially since AR parts have become $$$$$ and made of Unobtanium :D

Starting a couple of new ones.... base is (2) Noveske chainsaw lowers, going with either a Gieselle trigger group. 10.5"- 12.5" noveske upper and supressed.... setting them both up alike.

I havent decided on stocks and pistol grips yet.... I have a bunch w/ MOE gear so something different....

I like the LaRue billet uppers and lowers but really an upper is an upper and a lower is a lower (for the most part).

I'm waiting on the big brown truck of happiness for my current build, but here is the list of parts:

    SI Defense lower
    Core 15 upper receiver
    ALG trigger
    PRI midlength tube
Rainier Arms Match Series 14.5" stainless barrel
    Magpul MOE stock
    Magpul MOE grip
    Global Tactical Thunder-bolt BCG
    BCM Gunfighter charging handle

I need to decide on what muzzle device to pin to the barrel. I have a Rainier Arms XTC comp coming but I'm leaning more towards a basic extended A2 flashhider from BCM.
