I never know if I had too many or if I just miscounted when loading magazines. Best so far is 103 in a hundred round box.

I got 49 in a box of 50 at Walmart once. I took it back, they said they don't take ammo returns/replacements. I walked back to the ammo counter, handed the box to the guy, he gave me a new one, and walked out.

My last box of Winchester 555 had 539 rounds. So I was also shorted a few rounds. Seems to be a pattern. If I every find another box of 555 on the shelves I will count them also.

A long long time ago I worked as a shipping clerk. I would package and ship tiny to massive parts to our customers. I would weigh-count anything over 100pcs. One slow day I decided to hand count and compare weigh count on a 5000 piece order. Scale vs hand count was within 25 pieces, leaving a very very small margin of error. I suspect hand counting would have a greater margin of error.

I did however change my own personal protocol to toss in 1% extra per box. So if the weigh counted 5000pc order said 5000, I tossed in 50. 100 pc order, I tossed in one. For the last couple years I worked there, we never had another customer complaint about counts, but I did get reprimanded about a customer that reported, and voluntarily paid for, for a surplus 35 pieces on a huge order, something like 10000 pieces.

I'm certain ammo is weigh counted and you'll get somewhere around a 0.5% error, which to me is totally acceptable.

Not that it's a huge deal but just was disappointed I was missing a bullet.

Now, let's see--You were shorted 1% of the product that you paid for?

Probably $6.99 for a FULL box-that would be 6.9 cents that you were shorted.

You NEED to fire up that 'Ole 4X4' and truck back down to Wally World+demand a refund of 6.9 cents-YEA-use up $5.00-$10.00 worth of fuel+RUN right down there!!

Question is--do they have a 'Nipper' that can cut 1/10th off of that 7th penny??HA HA..Bill.

I don't know what ammo you are paying 6.99 for 100 now a days but sign me up... Considering I was out on a cycle ride about 70miles from my house, I won't be going back anywhere and I doubt they would do anything anyways. Really it was just interesting that a major manufacture would be off in count in the neg. definitely some interesting responses

    You see, it's the principal.
What does he have to do with the OP being shorted ammo? Did Skinner steal the round?

I have counted a few bulk packs over the years. Never had one with less than the stated amount.
