Sorry, but this is really a dumb argument. What WOULD you want to be hit with? .32? .22?...would YOU want to get hit with a .380?
I DARE ANYBODY THAT DISSES MY .177 BB GUN CCW TO TAKE ONE TO THE EYEBALLS AND NO YOU DON'T GET TO WEAR GLASSES

I believe the 380 with a decent round will deter most aggression.
John
I have a sig 232 that's easy to carry. Another advantge of a .380 is that you can spend as much spare time as you want trying to find ammo for it
I carry a KelTec 3AT a lot because there is almost no time that I can't carry it. It drops in my pocket and is unnoticeable. The cartridge is considered "marginal" by most experts. However, like the old saying goes; "The best gun to have is the one that you're carrying when you need it". IMHO, Having a gun and being able to be accurate with it is far more important than what you carry.
That being said.... When I can carry a larger gun, I do.
A couple of years ago I bought her an XD40 sub compact and the Bersa hasn't seen the light of day since. She finds the sub compact 40 more comfortable to carry than the Bersa.
I'm curious... What is her mode of carry? (An XD-40 is my usual carry piece, and I've been considering the sub compact.)
Also how comfortable is she shooting the .40? (The standard "guy answer" is the .40 is too snappy for a woman, which I don't agree with.)
So keep in mind I am a total n00b here....
...but I was reading somewhere that it has been suggested that if you carry a smaller caliber like the .380 you should alternate FMJ and JHP in your magazine and practice 2 round "bursts". That way you have penetration, AND spread.
Any comments?
