Amen to that statement! BoR is working part of the morning, but he'll be home for supper, and our daughter is joining us this year as well. We couldn't ask for a better Thanksgiving Day than that!
On Call and loving it, in 20 years I have only run about 10 calls and most are less than 4 hours counting travel to and from. We get 8 hrs of DT for being on call + 1 1/2 per hr. if I go out on a call.
When you're a farmer with livestock you work every holiday. It's not as bad since we don't farrow to finish anymore, but it still requires us to work. I still wouldn't trade my occupation for anything.
