    Right now I'm buying cast lead bullets from Lens for $8 per 100. That must be a darn good price, because I can only find one place online that's cheaper... and once you throw in shipping its not worth it.

    Where do you all buy your bullets, and how much are you paying?

    Better Bullets / King Shooter Supply

    9mm = $30-$34 per 500
    .38/.357 = $34-$36 per 500
    .45 = $36-$42 per 500

    $10 flat rate shipping. That'll get you 3-4 boxes depending on the weight.

    I bought these bullets in person when I lived in PA. They produce nice accuracy, very little or no leading. They are cast quite hard. Prelubed.

    You might want to look into casting your own. If you look in the right places there is always free lead. Someone recently gave me 100 lbs of linotype to mix in with it for free.

    I've been buying from Missouri Bullet Co. for about a year now. The prices are reasonable ($34/500 for 200 gr. .45 SWC), the service is first-rate, as is their product and the low, flat-rate shipping cost beats the Whee out of what most all of the Big Name mail/web outfits I've used before charge.

    EG: I ordered 2K of the .45 SWCs on a Wednesday morning through the website. They were in my hands Friday afternoon. Total cost for the lot was $146.95, or a tad over $0.07 per bullet.

    IMO, it'd take a lo-o-o-ng time and many, many thousands of bullets to amortize the cost of the equipment one would have to buy for DIY production before they could start to beat, or even match, that cost - even if you don't factor anything for your time into it.

    You can order a sample pack (100 pieces) of a bullet you want to try with any regular order for $9 as long as it will fit in the shipping box and it will not hold up your regular order (a stock on hand issue), you'll get it.

    Also if you are a member of thehighroad.org there is a discount on the web prices.
