Just for the heck of it, if you are in the Indy area, contact Bradis. They can usually get a VEPR at a very good price.

I think I would consider selling my PSL and all the gear for the Vepr sporter, I would add a SVDS folder, get rid of the hanguard, and a nice PSO optic for that side rail,

Spalding, that's not a PSL. That's a .308 VEPR 01. The PSL and 54R magazines are slightly curved like most Russian magazines.

I'm converting my 54R VEPR now. I have that handguard on the way. I just popped the barrel cap and screwed on an extra AMD65 brake. We'll see how that goes. If I don't like it, I'll get the Tabuk flash hider from Nodak.

Oh OK. I'm very accustomed to AR most common AK 47/74 models, but the big boys are so foreign to me still. Much more research will be put in place, but whatever I go with I already know will shoot 54r. I love the round.

I highly recommend getting a 54R VEPR. I love mine, and it's incredibly accurate even with mil-surplus ammo. The barrels are much heavier than the PSL and they also have RPK trunnions, thus allowing it to shoot heavier ammo.

I love my PSL but the thin barrel does open up groups as it heats up fairly quickly. However, the PSL also has an RPK style bulged trunnion but it's not able to fire heavy grain ammo.

From the posts here, I'm tempted to get a VEPR in x54r.

If you are referring to centerfiresystems ....theirs are .223,7.62x39 and .308. No 54r.
