Since everyone is so focused on assault weapons, I thought it would be a good time to look for a nice skeet gun. The dealers should be getting them in on trade. I think I would like a 12 guage auto loader, but I'm open for suggestion. Are there guns specifically made for skeet? Thanks
There are skeet versions of most of the major autoloaders, but they vary quite a lot in what they offer over a basic version.
If you intend to shoot high volumes you can't beat a Beretta 391 for longevity. Configurations abound, the best way to pick one is to find a gun shop with a skeet field outside, like the Indiana Gun Club.
Remmington 1100, Used prices should be reasonable and it will double as a H/D gun! Many moons ago I had a Winchester 1400 Trap gun, they came as Skeet also. I had 0 problems with it. Yo can find these as well.
Most serious trap, skeet. and sporting clay shooters use over/under shotguns. An autoloader will work and many people start out using them and later move up to a O/U.
I went from an 870 pump to a Ruger Red Label OU and never looked back. It's one of a very few guns I'm keeping. With choke tubes it will do it all.
