Although I like Jennybird's idea , this mess has gone on for four months now , with at least 30 days since their last "attempt" at moving it .
I would consider it mine and use it , looks like they traded some flowers for a shed . IMO , you're being way too nice about this and being walked on .
Get one more date from them and let them know if they don't move it, they lose it. Put it back on the ground and use it. If it comes to it I think any small claims court would back you on it.
My parents are looking for a shed for their backyard. Post a pic for me, and depending on the size for moving it, you just may have a deal. I'm local to you, too.
I agree, Jennybird is right. You just bought the house, and I assume you plan on staying there a while. A "friendly" conversation with your neighbor will set some paramaters for your future relationship. You will be happier in the long run - although I would be up for shoot and a BBQ!!
1) Talk to neighbors, politely but firmly. As of X date, it's gone. Their choice whether to their yard or up in smoke/off to dump.
2) Talk to cops, explaining situation. First one to call gets to be the "plaintiff".
3) Follow through. When you tell them X date, don't back down and give another chance. Tell me where and I might be able to help, too.
4) Make sure you carry (at all times) for a while at least.
What if I go talk to your neighbors and ask them where they want the shed and how they are going to pay for my services? That will take you out of the equation. I need to make a run up to FT. Wayne to deliver a parts washer anyway. Sometime next week.
