Well sadly my first handgun had to be the only pistol I had money left over on my 21st to purchase. It was a Hi-point C9. Enjoyed the gun for a little over a year and even though it was my first pistol it really had no sentimental value and has since been traded.
First handgun was a S&W Sigma 9mm compact. I absolutely hated it. Got rid of it for a Browning BDA .380 that ran and shot circles around it. I have not wanted an S&W since
Glock 23....Absolutely love it. I've had it for a few years. I have multiple guns that i carry and shoot now but I'd reccomend a glock 23 to anyone wanting a .40.
It was a nickel finish Astra 9mm. I went to my local Big R on my 21st birthday and paid for it. Picked it up 7 days later. I remember how proud I was that day. My buddies all went out and got drunk on their 21st birthdays. I went out and bought a handgun. Different priorities, I guess.
Owned 4 of them in total. Nice gun with a LOOOOOOOOONG trigger!
The gun that got me INTERESTED in handguns, however, was the ill-fated Vektor CP1. It had that wonderful "Drop-and-it-fires" feature everyone was looking for in a carry gun back then!!
Sig P229R (.40 cal w/ .357 Sig conversion barrel as well)
.40 was to expensive for me to maintain proficiency with the DA/SA pulls so I ended up buying a Glock 19 to carry but kept the 229 for when I get more cash/get a job with ammo benefits. Still prefer the Sig, but the Glocks a good gun too.
My first handgun was a 1851 Colt army reproduction made by traditions and sold as a kit. My first modern pistol was a Taurus PT945 it was a good looking gun and back then I thought if it wasn't a .45 it wasn't worth carrying. That's changed over the years.
My first handgun was a ruger single 6 22. and yes i packed it. not easiest thing to pack. many many handguns later i pack my witness 9mm. though sometimes i go to my mistress my 40 call xd
