Seems like I'm showing my age now..only one other person in this thread has had a vehicle as new as me. I was 16, and got a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, extended cab, 4x4, 5.2l v8. It is black, and still sits in my driveway to this day. She gets used much less now because I bought a commuter car to drive to college. Good times!!

1971 Buick Electra Limited Edition. I got it in '03 and it had 73k original miles. The seats were all still wrapped in plastic. 455, 4 barrel carb. That thing was a land barg and faster than you can imagine. I had to get rid of it because it got less than 9mpg and I couldn't afford it. Oh yea, I paid $200 for it from a lady that was getting rid of her late husbannd's stuff. She couldn't drive and drastically reduced the price because she liked me!

my first car was a 67 mustang that had tar all over the roof. someone had spilled a bucket and never cleaned it up. other than that the body was in pretty good shape. it did run but i never got to legally drive the stupid thing. mom and dad got a divorce before we could get it going and it got sold.

This was my first one that I owned (this isn't my picture, but of one just like it). I bought it for $200, pulled it out of the weeds, put a battery in it, air in tires, water in radiator, and drove it 100 miles home. That fall, had all 4 new fenders on it, floorboards, new paint. Is STILL to this day my favorite car.

I'm 30 now so 14 yrs ago my first vehicle was a 1987 Jeep "Cherokee Chief" 2-door, 4x4.

I drove it for several years and loved it other than not getting great gas mileage. Ended up selling to a friend's brother for his first vehicle!

My first car was a 1987 Chevy Sprint Metro, with a fire breathing 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder engine driving only the left front wheel, if I recall. Came fully equipped with a 5 speed manual and a large wind-up key to use if the motor ever quit.

1980 Mercury Capri 200cid with a 4sp manual. My parents bought it new in 1980 and when I got it in 1989, it had 250k miles on it. You could not kill that straight 6 motor. Mine looked just like the picture...even had the metric TRX wheels that Michelin was the only company making tires for it.

I had an old State Police 97 grand marquis. First vehicle I ever bought was a 2007 Silverado single cab long bed. Had the 4.8 motor and a long bed on it. I loved it but it was an electrical nightmare and I sold it to buy my 2010 ext cab Silverado.

I had a 1972 Dodge Challenger. 318 automatic, forest green paint, green top, dark green interior! Didn't appreciate it and beat the crap out of it. Bought it from an Indiana State Policeman, paid $1,350 and sold it 3 years later for $1,350. Not a bad deal even though I blew up the engine and had to replace it. Almost 30 years later I restored a 73. 340 sixpack, 4-speed, top banana yellow, black top and interior, rallye wheels, strobe stripes and best of all...165 mph! Gotta love the MOPARS!
