What happened in Carmel today?

I was driving down Rangeline near City Hall and I saw 7 or more police cars and a guy getting arrested. Then 15 minutes later I was at Autozone and two State Police cruisers ran by with lights and sirens. Then when I drove back by City hall they were all in front of the City Hall building and there were more city cars forming a loose perimeter around the area of City Center. They where just leaving a 1/2 hour later when I left the hardware store.

What could have brought out that much manpower???

That carjacking was the equivalent of fat dumb and happy. Who would give a couple of strangers a ride at 12:30?

Come on, it's Carmel... You regularly see 2 or more squad cars for a routine traffic stop there. I sometimes think they have more police than they know what to do with.

Get a scanner. That's the only way you'll hear about most of this stuff. I wasn't listening today, since I had other stuff going on. It's legal to have one mobile/portable in IN with an amateur license, and those are really easy to get now.

OK, I've learned my lesson. I'm not leaving the house without pants ever again...Carmel PD are a bunch of sticklers.

Word around work is that it was a bomb threat, and the guy getting arrested was the one that made the threat.
