My favorite carry is a Colt Combat Elite in a Front Line vertical quick draw shoulder holster. The rig holds two spare mags on the right. Comfortable and effective.
i've bought 3 1911's and none cc well. im a sucker for long barrels. so, i promissed myself to buy a small 1911 for carry only (close quarter) if you know what i mean. so here is what i have : taurus 1911 blue steel, tuarus pt945 ported stainless, and a springfield 1911-A1 officer. what i need for every day is a kimber ultra carry!
Just got my LTCH in mid-February so I am testing various pistols and various carry methods. At the moment, I have been carrying my Springfield 1911 in either a Raven Concealment Kydex custom or Blackhawk holster at 3 o'clock. I have also been carrying a Walther PK380 in a Fobus holster at 3 o'clock.
However, after reading thru this thread I am really tempted to just shove it inside my waistband at 5p and be done with it...oldschool. Thoughts???
FNP 45 with 14+1 of Hornady 230 gr. HP's in a Bladetech OWB holster at 8 o'clock with forward cant.
Springfield GI Champion 1911 4" with 8+1 of Hornady 230 gr. HP's in Fobus Roto Holster at 8 o'clock position with forward cant. Cocked, Locked, and Ready to Rock!
Either my S&W 4566 in an S&W shoulder rig or my S&W 457 in a Stoner IWB. 3rd Gen Smiths, ya can't beat 'em but if you run out you can beat 'em with 'em.
