Well, let's not dismiss our possible involvement altogether. We do have the track record, and I believe there were a few stories about Trump inquiring about invading as well.
I saw that the other way - I think there's going to be a consensus that, yeah, we ARE helping the opposition.
Maduro was wrong about many things, but I think he's probably right about that.
Are you sure? I heard the same type stories, only they mentioned Obama as the inquirer? Or maybe it was in the Enquirer? It all gets so complicated.

That's unpossible, Trump is a Russian puppet so he should be acting in concert with RussiaYeah, that's what I was going for. Though I had a different Dumb & Dumber gif in mind... that one sort of fit.

There's a million+ refugees in Columbia and Columbia can't afford to support them even in a 3rd world level. Columbia wants this turmoil to end before it brings down their government.
It will be interesting to see who strikes first, a CIA supported revolutionary army or Maduro claiming he's protecting the homeland but really just providing a common enemy to rally the citizens that haven't left yet.
Maduro has cancelled diplomatic ties and demanded our embassy staff leave. The US has recognized the opposition leader as the legitimate leader (hope his life insurance is paid up) and says we don't recognize Maduro's demand as legitimate so we won't leave. If Maduro tries to have his police or proxies forcibly evict them they will be attacking American sovereign territory. It's not too hard to connect these dots. His move I guess.
I thought we told diplomatic staff to leave because of the unrest anyway?
But yeah, Guaido totally crossed the Rubicon. He either wins or dies.
Here's hoping they're allowed to have rounds chambered when standing guard.
Id imagine, that now they are, but I doubt that would help much if Maduro decided to take the embassy.
I personally, think it's a needless risk of lives. Maduro controls the government, and we aren't doing anything substantive (at least in public view) to justify keeping the embassy staffed. Nation in turmoil, pull our people out until they get their act together.
