Have you every thought of becoming a firearms instructor?

We will be hosting a USCCA Instructor Certification Course on January 28th and 29th in Columbus Indiana.

It takes a lot to have successful Concealed Handgun Carry class. You must be knowledgeable and skilled in many areas. Not only must you be knowledgeable enough to train others how to safely use guns, but you must find ways to promote your classes, create and maintain a website, create a dynamic PowerPoint presentation, communicate with students and handle all of the administrative requirements.

These daunting tasks are made much easier with training received at a US Concealed Carry Association Instructor Certification Course. You will be equipped with the knowledge and materials to be successful in this highly competitive field.

    The Course
The first part of the course is a 7 hour on-line training module developed by Michael Martin of the USCCA. The training module mirrors his book “Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals” and the professionally developed PowerPoint presentation for use in your classes. The on-line training module must be completed prior to attending the live two day training session.

The live two day certification session consists of classroom instruction, hands-on breakout sessions, and live-fire exercises. The live certification session covers the following topics:

    1. Course Introduction and FAQs
    2. Instructor Mistakes
    3. Teaching Best Practices
    4. Managing a Safe Live Fire Range
    5. Live Fire Exercises
    6. Presenting the Student Multimedia
    7. Marketing Your Business
    8. Final Test and Review

    The Instructor Toolkit
It has been called a “CCW Class in a Box.” The USCCA Instructor Toolkit contains all of the material you need to conduct your classes.

Working in collaboration with expert photographers, illustrators and videographers, the USCCA has created what’s now considered to be the industry standard for concealed carry and home defense textbooks and PowerPoint presentations.

The Instructor Toolkit includes: 10 copies of Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals by USCCA Chief Instructor Michael Martin, his complete 235-slide PowerPoint presentation, 14 professional quality classroom videos that enhance the subject being discussed, and one classroom poster printed in high resolution color, using the same incredible graphics from the book and PowerPoint.

    The Certification
Successful completion of this course will earn you the right to be called a United States Concealed Carry Association Certified Instructor. Your certification is approved to teach CCW classes in 36 states. You will be listed on the USCCA Instructor website and your classes will be searchable to prospective students.

Please understand that this is not an automatic, rubber-stamp course. You must pass a shooting qualification, pass a written exam and you must pass the instructor’s approval in class participation and presentation skills. You must earn the right to become a USCCA Certified Instructor. But once you do, you will join the best in training citizens across America in the principals of self-defense and concealed carry.

    Course Cost
Total cost for the course is $624.

The Instructor Toolkit and E-Learning Module are purchased directly from the USCCA. As registered students for the Instructor Certification Course, you will receive a substantial price reduction for these items. Your investment will only be $277. If you already have one or both of these, your price will be reduced or eliminated.

The cost for the 2 day live training session is $347. Class space is limited to 12 students.

Click this link to view an E-Learning Module Sample Lesson.
To order the toolkit and sign up for the e-learning module call the USCCA at 877-577-4800. Tell them you are enrolling in this course and need to complete the e-learning.

The e-learning module must be completed a minimum of two weeks prior to the starting date of this class. This module gets you exposure to the material that you will be teaching your students in courses.

What town/city will this be hosted in?

Be interested in knowing this as well. I really do not want the certification but I might be interested in seeing the class material. Is the price $347 total or does that include the $250 toolkit and online module? In other words is the class open enrollment and what is the price.

The course will be held in Columbus Indiana with a total cost of $597. This is for the Instructor Toolkit with e-learning module you order from the USCCA at $250. Then you will have a two day instructor class for $347 to complete. All pricing is set by the USCCA and no Traning Councelor is allowed to charge more or less for the two day instructor class portion of the certification process.

The Instructor Certification will enable you to teach three courses: Basic Handgun, Concealed Carry, and Home Defense Courses. As the USCCA releases more courses soon you will be eligable to gain certification in: Emergency First Aid, Mitigating the Mass Shooter Threat, Firearms Fundamentals, Defensive Handgun Series Levels 1 - 3, Women's Pistol 101-103 and Emergency Preparedness - Surviving the First 72 hours and beyond. This will add additional advanced courses you will be able to offer to your students and community as a Certified Instructor.

If you have thought about becoming a United States Concealed Carry Association Instructor, this is the time to do it. Until last September there were no Training Councelors in the State of Indiana. I went to West Bend Wisconsin and became a certified TC at USCCA Headquarters. Now there are only two TC's in our State and this is the first Instructor Certification Course offered in Indiana by a Indiana Resident TC.

We have open enrollment going on right now and are limited to only 12 students (USCCA Rule). For more information feel free to call me on my cell phone at 734-277-5985 or email me at brett_dicks@hotmail.com.

The USCCA Instructor Certification allows you to teach three courses: Basic Handgun, Concealed Carry, and Home Defense. The Concealed Carry Course is the flag ship class I use to teach students as a entry defensive pistol class or introduction to concealed carry. There is no mandatory live fire component required by the USCCA for you to perform with your students. So it is up to you as to what you want to teach in your course and this will dictate what level of skill your students will need to possess in order to attend. An example of this would be the following: In order to attend my Concealed Carry Course, the prerequisite to attend is a Basic Handgun Course, holster, magazine pouch for at least one magazine and a means to conceal the handgun (i.e. cover shirt, jacket, etc). So, in this class (on the range) we can introduce the student to weapon presentation techniques from the concealed position starting with dry practice and moving to live fire. However, the range session is left up to the individual instructor (you) to develop and administer as you choose.

The USCCA Concealed Carry Course has a fully developed PowerPoint presentation for you to use in your 4 hour classroom session. Here is the curriculum:
