There were some in Zimbabwe until Mugabe stole it all and made everyone poor (except himself)
That's an old story in black run Africa.
There were some in Zimbabwe until Mugabe stole it all and made everyone poor (except himself)
And they knew what they were doing when they went over there, didn't they? They thought they had the situation under control. They didn't. Now as a result others have to be put at risk. And if the risk is so minimal, how did they get it in the first place? I'm all for getting them good treatment. I'm just not for them getting it here. Every time this government of ours thinks they have something "under control" bad things start happening. It doesn't seem to matter if it's social, economic, or medical. Lately, under our current leadership, they have the means to screw it up. We used to be able to put people on the Moon. Times change.
The gun runners in Benghazi knew what they were getting into but that didn't stop INGO from wanting to move mountains to save them.

A nice look at the experimental drug that looks to have saved the doctor and his compatriot.

Yeah, but I don't believe for a second that they thought they would have their asses hung out to dry for political expediency either.
So 'cause Obama?
Posted in other Ebola thread because as we know, INGO needs 5 threads on every topic.

Please form an orderly line and panic.
As a 20 year old specialist in Bosnia, I had the good sense to know that my chain of command would have left my ass hung out to dry for political expediency.
Here at INGO, we'll do ya one better - we'll hang your ass out to dry just for being annoying! (evil grin)
Seriously - do you really mean to say that they should have EXPECTED to be left to die? Really?
I don't think they thought the US would declare war for them.
What do you think their calls for help were? Wanting Hillary to come play tiddlywinks?
Benghazi was a whole different ball game. Chris Stevens was asking for increased security for months before the attack happened. As much as I feel for what happened to him and his colleagues, he should have set a deadline for them to provide it. If not then go. It's as simple as that. He knew his life was in danger long before he was killed. He posted on a gaming forum just hours before he died saying, "I hope I don't die tonight." I'm NOT saying it was his fault, but honestly, how much danger do you have to be in before you act on your own, and remove yourself from the situation? It's not like that embassy was a fortress.
The only parallel line you can draw between this and the Ebola crap is both of them put themselves into dangerous situations they thought they could control. Both were wrong. Stevens died, and the doctors still might. Both made the wrong call to remain where they were. Both needed others to help them. The doctors got it.......Stevens & Co. didn't.
