    i have a 1917,25-2,625JM and 325PD.....love ACP wheel guns.....great find!!!!

    BIG +1

Me personally I think the best wheel guns out there are all .45 acp. My edc is a 325 night guard. I wouldn't trade it for any two revolvers in other calibers. I would love to have one of the older 1917's.

So joker how would you compare shooting the 1917 vs the 1911.. BOth shooting the same shells????

Good question! My only 1911 is a steel framed Colt Officer's Model. The 1917 is a hulk of a hand gun. Although the 1911 is more comfortable to shoot(...for my hand), the three inch barrel doesn't give the 1911 near the range of the five and a half inch barrel of the 1917. I backed up to 50 yards and firing single action put six rounds in center mass of the silhouette target.

On the other hand the compact 1911 is a much more comfortable carry gun.

A comparison to a full sized 1911 would be more fair.
