I would have to add a Superposed or Citori, waaay too many pumps on that list. I might replace the A5 with a 1100 or maybe a Beretta

Since you have not designated "combat" or "recreation" and "semi" or "pump".......I think the best way to judge such a list would be in a weapons relevance to history in design, importance, and shear numbers bought/used throughout time and so I would have to say in no particular order

    1. 1897
    2. 870
    3. 500
    4. A5
    5. 1100

if it weren't for NFA....I'm sure the striker-12 would have made it on that list
and it's subject to change depending on specifics as mentioned above

    1. Benelli Super Black Eagle.

That's all I need to do any job. I own MANY shotguns, but this is the one I always reach for first. It has never failed me in any environment. Pouring rain, 30° below and packed with mud/snow, it keeps going and going and going and going.....

You put a Mossberg, ANY Mossberg on the list before adding a Winchester Model 21?

Shotgun preference is like underwear..........very personal.

    1 Winchester Model 12
    2 Winchester Model 42
    3 Winchester Model 21
    4 Remington 870
5 Beretta O/U's of all kinds

I guess I should have added "your Top 5 Shotguns the one's on my list I considered, reliability, historical importance, popularity, and in the case of the mossberg numbers made. I see by your list you sir do have taste in quality firearms.

The list begins and ends for me with the Browning Auto 5. I've had other scatterguns and they were o-kay but, for me, nothing shoulders better that the old "hump-back".

    JMB was the master.

    What about the Widow-Maker? :abused:

    Only if you're brave enough:dunno:
I have a widowmaker and no it is not included in my list but if I factored in coolness and and it's effectiveness in proving darwin's law it would be number 1
