    My top 3 would be
    1. An AR15
    2. 12GA shotgun
    3. .22LR

    And I've got all 3 covered with 4 ARs, Remington 1100 12ga, and a Ruger 10/22

I figured, I'm the new guy. I would have gotten concerned if I didn't get some harassment. Thanks though, enjoying these convoys

I'm going RollingStone on this one...

    1) Semi Auto Rifle
    2) Shotgun
    3) Bolt Action Rifle

    :):

    Too Specific for Rolling Stone.

    1) Rifle - Firearm with stock, trigger and barrel with rifling that is designed to be fired from the shoulder
    2) Shotgun - firearm with stock and barrel that lacks rifling that is designed to fired from the shoulder
    3) Misc - All other firearms with a stock designed to be fired from the shoulder.

    1. Springfield Armory M1-A - Cause it's just like the M-14s I had when I was in the US Army in the late 60s.
    2. .308 Ruger American Rifle - Simply because it's a good shooter
    3. Ruger 10 22 - It's a 10 22, duh!

When I get used to it, my new 9mm M1 Carbine. Only had it out once, but ready for a second trip to the range with it!

I looked at this as I could only buy 3. The ar/ak were considered but I was looking for the most diverse group. I also like the contender/encores with different barrels.
Springfield M1A round can be used for any game and is a competent battle rifle.
Remington 870 12 gauge timeless design a lot of options and spare parts
Ruger 10/22 doesn't blow the small stuff up. Many options with this fantastic little rifle.

    Ok, I'll play.
A Marlin model 60, or a Ruger 10/22. Either one. Both great squirrel /varmint poppers.
    .
A Model 700 or an AR. Different missions, but lots of overlap.
    .
Whichever shotgun YOU like. I like my Remington 1187. I use it for home defense with a smooth bore 20" slug barrel, Turkey, rabbit, squirrel and upland game with a 28" vented rib barrel and various chokes, and deer with a nice cantilevered rifled slug barrel. She's a do it all girl. And does it all pretty well.
