Thinking of getting back into reloading.. Would Tite group be useful for 9MM and 45 ACP? Also what is a good price for a pound ofTite group.

    Thanks

Title group is mediocre in my book...but works ok with jacketed and plated bullets....forget about it with lead.
There are far better powders for both and either caliber but it is popular and will work.

An average pound of powder goes for $24-26 these days.

Tite group will heat up your gun fast and get to pressure signs real fast if you push it at all.

    God bless

I've used Titegroup on everything and have never had an issue. Get with Kimball with Bobcat Steel. He has some good prices on powder.

Titegroup works pretty well with a large range of rounds, including 12 guage. The makers of the teflon coated black cast bullets do not recommend it, but I have lots of other bullet options on hand if I want to use Titegroup. AA#5 or WW231 will work well in both of them but they are even harder to find. I was at Hodgdon in Shawnee Mission this weekend and they didn't even have any Kegs available, I had to by one pound jars.

I've had good luck with TiteGroup in my 9. Best I can remember without my paperwork is 4.0 grains of TiteGroup with a 124 grain FMJ bullet. I'm still working out the exact load but it seems like that's about middle range. :twocents:

Someone sold some titegroup to a buddy of mine and said he'd found something better but I have no idea what it was... I always hear tite group is the way to go. I'd like to get my hands on an 8lb jug.

I've used a fair bit of it in .45 ACP and in .38 special w/ 148gr wadcutters both cast and plated.
Good stuff. Don't recall what I paid last time, but I was happy to get it.

I've used a lot of Titegroup for 9mm and 45acp. It usually cost $17 a pound up at Indiana Gun Club. Call ahead and make sure they have it in stock before you drive up there.

I use Tite Group with X-Treme plated bullets, 124 grain RN in 9mm 4.1 grains at 1057 fps. 230 grain RN in 45acp, 4.8 grains at 855 fps, Hodgen reloading data center. I have had no issues and enjoy good results!

I use 4.3 gr with xtreme plated 115gr's in my 9 OAL of 1.15 and 4.6gr xtreme plated 230gr's in my 45 OAL of 1.50. I'm sure I use 4.3 for my 38's but can't remember off the top of my head but I do use 158gr xtreme again.

Why are you not suppose to use it with leaded bullets?

I have used some of it in 45 acp when I could not find Unique or Bullseye. Seemed to me to be less consistent and leaves the brass smokin hot. Useable but I'm not a fan.

I use exactly the same loads as IIH1956 - same results. Just chrono'd a bunch yesterday with consistent results

I use the Xtreme Plated 9MM 124 grain HP projectiles - same FPS results as his round nose.
