If you can get into a time machine and go back to see any band or artist, who would it be? I was driving home today when this question was asked over the radio. My pick would be the Grateful Dead! And maybe Boston. What band or artist would you have loved to see live?

Alice in Chains when Layne was still alive and semi-coherent.

Stevie Ray Vaughan when he was playing small bars in Texas. (and tell him to stay off helicopters!)

Lynyrd Skynyrd in SC on October 20, 1977 (and try to convince Ronnie to charter a bus.)

Second the Alice in Chains and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Also would love to see Queen again. Saw them in about '77. Annnnnd.... The Carpenters. Karen had the smoothest voice ever.

The great show for me that never happened (I know, slightly OT, but just as likely as a time machine!) would be with The Dead, Elvis, Sinatra, Cash and B.B., and Hendrix.

Jeez, after reading some of the bands and artist, I'm rethinking my picks! Jonny Cash, Elvis, Chuck Berry. Would of been nice to watch rock and roll evolve. Muddy Waters, BB King, Buddy Guy back in the early days.

    My list has doubled.
I saw Zepplin here in indy at the Colosseum back in the stone knives and axes days. Must have been 1968 or so.
Saw Tull at the Armory around the same time.

One of my favs was ZZ Top early when they were a lead in band. Everything was white, carpet, clothes, equipment and while they played, the lighting would change their color. Of course they were awesome.

Never saw him in concert but I would definitely go back and see Stevie Ray Vaughan if I had the chance.
