    Inheritance Taxes are just pure evil anyway. The Government has received their cut when the income was earned, another cut for capital gains if invested. It is eveil that someone can earn, save and invest all of their lives to take care of their family, and then at death the Taxman comes in and takes half of it...:noway:

    Yeah, I would get a lawyer and not tell the press to begin with.
    But even now I'm sure the rules and taxes are different depending on what you do.
    Do you keep it all? Do you gift some to friends and family members? Etc.

    Yep, especially if you saved stuff legally.
    The article said the gold was purchased legally in the 50's and 60's, I'm sure they had to pay tax on that.

    Is real estate expensive in your area Sylvain??? I know that European houses are usually smaller, what would a 3 bdrm 1000-1200sq ft house cost???

    I guess it depends how close you get to the coast over here.
    It's way more expensive in big cities like Paris.

    I can't really tell you a price.
