I have mentioned a couple times that I have an empty basement... empty as in people... not piles of jun.... err valuables....

That would get old real quick.

Submarines off unfriendly coasts are not known for luxuries.
We did so much "hush-hush" stuff, we had to modify some "conditions".
We spent so long at Battlestations, we had to have Battlestations Port, and Battlestations Starboard.
So half the crew was at battlestations while the other half tried to sleep or other necessary stuff.
Rig for Quiet, we had to rig for Ultra Quiet. All crew not on watch, in their bunks. No A/C. No ventilation.
In both cases... no showers.

We've had the best bet with Office Max/Depot or Staples for desktops. I usually just get a basic HP or Dell for about $300.

I am waiting for the new iMacs to be released to see if I should get a new desktop. This one is about 6 yo now.
