Just make sure you keep the wood in case you ever want to sell or change it back. I can't stand when people sporterize or take original wood off of guns and just get rid of it. Bad mistake

:D Just wait for the photos to upload. Not sure if I like it yet, but we'll see.

Noooooo don't come back! It's much nicer out there! You'll regret it!

And stop INGOing and driving. I'm sure that's illegal somewhere... :):

Who said I was driving??? And it's the internet.........I could still annoy you from there if I had decided to stay.

    :lmfao: sorry, couldn't help it.

So, why do you refer to it as a SOCOM SKS?

The stock and having a rail?

SKS-035 - Leapers UTG SKS Tri-Rail System Hard Anodized Finish Solid Locking Construction, Machined Aluminum Mount

I put that on there because the Fusion stock already had the lower rail. I didn't want to put a bipod on the barrel itself so it didn't mess with the harmonics, but I'm thinking the rail will anyway. Regardless, no other SKS scope mount works at all so I'm trying this out instead.I had a 25% discount coupon for CTD so I used it. :)

Oh I'm keeping it just in case. However, chances are I will never get rid of this SKS unless I someone offers me $1000 for it. I had another one that I got rid of to build my AR and it too had the Tapco stock. I prefer it to the folder because the folder wobbled, and the wood stock was too short. I like the Draganov style stock, but it just doesn't look right somehow.

So I went with the Fusion again because I like it. :) Not sure about the tri-rail though.

    This was my previous sks.

did you ever have any problems with the scope in that position? looks like it would either A: be hit by an ejecting case or B:the glass would get really dirty or possibly damaged..or both:dunno:

Or C: If its a rifle scope, might not have enough eye relief. Although a Pistol scope would be fine.

If it didn't cost so much, I'd say look into the LaRue Iron Dot sight

 I never shot it like that but had planned to put a shell deflector on it for that very reason. However, I sold it before I could and told the buyer that he should get one so as to not damage the scope.

There's no other real choice for a scope on the sks unless you drill into the receiver for an AK type mount. This is not recommended however. The Receiver cover mounts 99.9% of the time WILL lose zero and come loose. I figured since I've head good things at the SKS boards about them I would at least try one. If I don't like it I'll go to the setup in the picture.

It had JUST enough eye relief to use it at full power. However, it only had 4 1/2" of eye relief. Next time around I'll shell out the money for a GOOD scout scope, but for now, I'm just looking at a decent holographic red dot.

or honkyrig a side sadle mount so it can be directly mounted to the stock...add about 3" to a normals side saddle mount and that would bring it up to sit enough above the receiver so it wouldnt interfere with the bolts action, then you would have to add some sort of deflector on the mount so the scope isnt being nailed every time a case ejects.:dunno:

Yup. I wish my original SKS wood wasn't all muffed up......some idiot butchered it trying to fit an aftermarket magazine.:n00b:
The bolt in the front was missing too.

    NorincoSKS004.jpg

I paid like $200 for it. :n00b: The one I got now was at the local shop because the only ones on here were a Yugo :puke: and a paratrooper that Don wants 375 for... I paid 270 and still felt like I got screwed. :dunno:
