    Just so I understand the thinking here;
    - white people growing dreadlocks is an unacceptable act of cultural appropriation
    - white characters being re-imagined is perfectly acceptable

    Re-imagining popular characters just strikes me as lazy checking. If you want a super hero who represents X demographic then create one. Taking an established character and changing them is just lazy and insincere.

    Jesus, it's NOT a reimagined character. It's someone stepping into the role. Tony Stark is STILL the original Iron Man, and exists in this universe. This has happened several times in the Iron Man series.... different races, different sexes. This isn't the world flipping poles.
