Back home. Put some more wheel time on the the old hot rod. Time to relax for a little bit before diving into a gun refinishing project, then back on the road tomorrow.

CZ pins have defeated me. Slide stop spring pin on the transitional, and extractor pin on the 1986 pre-B. Come out smoothly but refuse to go back in.

Amazing how tight these are... very discouraging to work on... :tantrum:

I will name this **** ME spring 2-PIN 1, **** ME spring 1 is the firing pin block lifter arm spring!! On the slide stop spring pin and it is a PITA! After you lay that spring in the track and line the low spot at the pin hole. First I use the base end of a drill bit that is small enough to be pressed over the spring partially holding it lower in its track from the out side of the slide I install the pin from inside the frame with needle nose then use a punch to leverage it into the pin hole then I have a very small eyeglasses flat blade screwdriver that I bent a 90 degree so it can be used to leverage the pin the rest of the way into the hole.

This shall now be called **** ME pin 2. The extractor pin ,after installing the spring set the extractor in place and insert the base end of a drill bit that barely fits into the hole from topside of the slide far enough to retain the extractor in place. Then drive the pin in from the bottom side until it is just past being flush with the bottom then remove the drill and re-stake the bottom side of the hole. I drive it in from the bottom side to prevent dinging up the slide. It's all funpsyko It's still not easy!

Did a range trip this am with WTB and another friend and shot the old Smith and Wesson 66 mostly. Overall, it's shooting well but still suffers from a lot of light strikes in DA. I need to put the original spring back in it until I can get it to a smith to do it up right. I also took along my G21 and Heritage. The G21 needed checked out with a light since I don't think I've shot it with the TLR-1 yet. In the end, I was having so much fun shooting the G21, I never did put anything through the Heritage. The G21 is a soft shooter for a big .45, but when you hang a light on it's nose, it really does make for a good, easy HD pistol.

    Hello, everyone !!!!!

Did anyone go to Allen's place today ?????

I just got back. Lots of folks showed up. I got to put a few faces to INGO names that I hadn't met before, like KellyInAvon, Rhino and ElDirector. I wish I could have hung around until the end, but had to scoot early.

Glad several showed up. I wanted to swing by, but, life.

I ended up doing pretty much what you suggested with #1. Inserted from the inside with a needle-nosed pliers, and used a punch to simultaneously depress the spring from the outside. Then just a matter of working it into the groove.

On #2, I used a brass hammer from the underside, and then brass punches until it was seated. The pin did a number on the punches, but at least they didn't mushroom the pin out the way my steel punches did.

Both pre-Bs are back together and functioning. I'm so excited!! :runaway:

Thanks for the advice! The pins are infuriating, but it feels soooo nice when it's done...:bacondance:

    Morning all... :coffee:

Still pretty happy with the enjoyable range trip I had with 88 and another buddy yesterday. Been collecting various types of inexpensive .22 ammo to run through my S&W Victory. So far it's run everything I've tried like a champ, which makes me pretty happy... :rockwoot:
