Thanks, for someone fairly new to owning Sig pistols, this was some interesting info.

I wish they had gone into more detail on the Sig 8" MPX (they mentioned SBRs don't sell but didn't discuss the pistol aspect of it).

I watched this today and came away impressed with the interview. Very interesting. I wish we could here this type of information from every manufacturer.

If things break SIG's way with the MMG and the MCX-Spear, OC could make Army an all SIG (well, 95%) Army.

Do not discount their long gun exports: https://www.nhpr.org/post/sig-sauer...porter-could-grow-bigger-rule-change#stream/0

Interesting read. Hopefully Sig doesn't turn itself into only a govt/military supplier. Glad for them to have the business and to hopefully turn it into R&D that produces better and better firearms, that are still supplied to the consumer market.

Colt turned itself into ZiL. Colt is retirement home for the USMC E ring brass double dippers, it has no interest in you yucky, icky civilians. Colt is unionized, UAW, and is a puppet on the strings of the state of CT and the DoD.

Did you watch the interview with SIG's CMO? SIG does not share that mindset.

Samuel Colt is flipping over in his grave.

Yep, I watched it. Heard his words, and thought it was a good and very candid interview, but also know money talks, and Sig has had some ups and downs in the past.

That said, got into 365's a bit back, and more recently a couple of 320's. I want them to stay strong in the civilian market and also benefit from the military markets. The modularity and the plan to offer FCU's without the rest of the pieces is the next step in small arms evolution and really like them. (On the other side of that some of the stuff Sig does regarding part numbering and modifying parts without any designations of this and what guns it fits, etc can be a problem for consumer market).

Will be interesting to see if some other manufacturers take up the modularity aspects (assuming that aspect in itself is not patented, but don't know that).

Colt is unionized but doesn't make car parts so they shouldn't be in the UAW.
Now Colt is moving the company to break the union. Typical.

From a business model viewpoint There are a few red flags that could raise their ugly head. Time will tell but but some of the synergy spent may have trouble keeping up in the near future. We will wait and see.
