Give me feedback and recommendations before I build. You can comment on material choice but I've already ordered the 316 so that's pretty much the way I'm going.
Assembly:
Piston and coil spring retainer:
Piston:
Endcap:
Needed:
Welder (preferably tig)
All I know about welding is that I'm not trying this on my MIG.

PM me if you offer these services near Columbus. Won't need for a few weeks.
Alright gentleman the form 1 is back and complete. I've had the form 1 for a while but am finally getting around to starting the build. All the turning will be done on my lathe. I may make the piston in two pieces then press fit and weld them together. There will be a coil spring in the piston assembly. Thought about making a 5/8x24 direct thread adapter. Will likely have to add some space between the blast chamber rear wall and the piston retainer piece threads. I don't know a way to thread up flush against a wall.
Proposed specs:
Build material: 316 stainless
Aperture: 0.394inches~10mm
OD: 1.375 inches
ID: 1.25 inches
Wall thickness: 0.0625 inches
Thread: 1/2x28
Baffles: 60 degree
Construction: full circumference welds
Length: TBD
Obviously I could change threads by switching out the piston.
A couple changes I'm thinking about making:
1. Flattening out the tips of the baffles to prevent wear.
2. Clipping baffles.
Not my photos (found online)
3. Stepped baffles rather than smooth.
4. Slotting or drilling the piston.
Not my photos (found online)
4. Non uniform baffle spacing (decreasing baffles spacing towards the end of the can)
