Stopped into a shop yesterday in Churubusco while I was travelling and killing time before an appointment,.
Picked up the Glock 19 and held it for a bit, checked it out, and then the guy hands me a Springfield XDM, boy, I sure do like the grip on the XDM, to me it felt much better than the G-19.
I see the 1911 has a .22 conversion but the XDM does not as of yet. I will have to check into this more.
you dont need a permit to buy it....just to carry it. but i think i speak for all of us when i say get your lifetime permit.

I filled that in last night, evidently it goes straight to the Police Department computers, I will go down tomorrow or Friday for he fingerprint, payment etc.
What I need to do is go and shoot a Glock a XDm and try them both, my buddies have Glocks and highly recommend them for the reasons already stated, dependability, cost, cost of parts, access to spare parts etc.
I feel the addiction coming on already, why buy one brand when you can have one of each or 2, or 3 or more!
I did not know that, I am new to the hand gun scene
