Thanks for ruining by dinner. Mr Thompson must have rolled over in his grave when they did that to his pride and joy.

My guess would be somewhere in europe (left after WW2) or pulled out of lake Michigan (just a guess from old news reel footage I've seen)

See, those photos prove that removing firearms prevent crime. With the destruction of all those Thompsons and all those pistols, there can't be any crime left in the world.... sarcasm off....tears flowing on...

Could be. I thought I saw those in a thread about leftovers from Vietnam that were disposed of in the ocean. I have no proof or evidence to back that up though. I'm not even sure if the Tommy Gun was used in Vietnam.

NOOO!!!!!!!!!! WHY DID YOU SHOW THAT?

where is this? are they rusty?

It's in Vietnam. The photo was taken in the last 20 years and the story is that they were sent there during the war and never used. The Vietnamese just got around to scrapping them and thus the piles of them in the photo...

I'm not even sure if the Tommy Gun was used in Vietnam.

Vietnamese armed forces used the Thompson, the M1 and the M!/M2 carbines up until they were rearmed, by the US, with the M16 - about 1967/68.
