I have a petite wife that loves her sig 226 double/single action. Looking for someone that can take a few pounds off the trigger to help her with that first pull. Has anyone had a great experience with a Sig smith?
According to Sig, it can't be done. Do not cut or shorten the main spring to lessen the trigger pull. Sig says that is a big no no. My recomendation is to dry fire it thousands of times to wear it in, that will help. Or, if you like Sigs, look at one with a double action trigger, called a DAK trigger. I use one in a 229 and like it better than the double single action. Also they do sell a short trigger, it is just a thinner trigger so it feels like a shorter trigger pull. It's been a while since I have checked with Sig about the hard trigger pull issue, as far as I know they do not make a different main spring at this time. Don't feel bad, I hear a lot people ask about that same issue with there Sigs.....
