At some point in time it has to be universally recognized that LE cannot be everywhere at all times and especially since the courts have affirmed that they do not have an obligation to protect then the average citizen must have the means at their disposal and the ultimate responsibility to be able to protect themselves.

Great piece. I've often thought that people might like to be "escorted" in dangerous but beautiful parks and trails by one or more legal weapon carrying civilians sort of like the Guardian Angels that Curtis Slewa (sp?) put together in NYC a generation ago. Titanium Frost and I got paid that ultimate compliment on a ride on Evansville's Greenbelt trail by a lady riding her bike behind us who stated that she felt safe with us ahead of her. How many other people would like to use these spaces but don't feel safe?

Him and Sheriff Joe from AZ would make one hell of a team.

Sherriff Joe and this guy have little to nothing in common. While I like some of what Sheriff Joe does, re: tent camps etc, the guy is a maniac and I don't trust him with the power he does have. Remember his little spat with the courts when his deputies got caught stealing from attorney's files?

This guy in S.C. seems to be real straight on.
