Plain, for sure. Unless I'm going to be cutting a bunch of cordage (rope, etc.), in which case serrations are nice.

Do you prefer a plain edge or serrated edge. I've always carried a plain just never saw a use for serrated but looking for your opinions.
Agreed, but if I haven't been keeping up on my edge, I still want to get that person out of a burning car as quickly as possible. So it's more of an "avoid the inevitable" thing than a general preference for a serrated edge.
there is no excuse not to keep up your edge period. if you can't yourself have someone else do it. thats like saying you haven't been cleaning your gun.
