Savage B-Mag SS heavy barrel

My brother and I picked one of these up as a gift for our father. He plans to retire this summers from the Carpenters Union. Unfortunatly his idea of retirement is not to quit working all together but at least to stop breaking his back at work. We wanted to recognise this so we got the rifle he has been talking about for a bit.

My questions... Anybody had a good luck with a certain scope on this? Perhaps a certain .17wsm ammo groups better than most?

His is the syn stock with heavy ss barrel.

I've got a Nikon 22 rimfire 3-9 on mine and am very happy with it. When it comes to ammo mine likes the 20gr over the 25. Others that I have talked to said the same about the ammo. Right now winchester is the only on that is making the ammo. Hornady announced production but I have yet to find it.
