    I've kinda got a dilemma here, I really want to get a S&W 5906, but I also found a great deal on a Glock 22 3gen .40cal.

I already have a 6906 w/ a 3.5"bbl but Im basicly looking at the same price for either gun.

I'm not a huge Glock fan but I do love my 6906, plus I'm thinking of getting the wiffy a Sterling 9mm Carbine, the prob is that the Glock is such a great deal and I like the .40s ballistics.

    All suggestions greatly appreceated.

My pick would probably be the Glock, but that's me. If you are familiar with and like the S&W's then that could be a good choice for you.

    What's the price range?

I have no real experience with that series of S&W's. Do the 6906 and the 5906's share mags, etc?

I usually advocate picking a platform and sticking with it. If those S&W's can share mags, have the same trigger type (i.e. conventional DA/SA, etc) then it may be worthwhile to stick with that series vs going the Glock route if you don't have a Glock already.

Glocks are my personal favorite, but not for everyone.

Get the 5906 since you're already familiar with the S&W ergonomics of your 6906.

It pains me to agree with this. But I have to. Makes sense. Plus you don't care for Glocks. A caliber won't necessarily change that. Go with the 5906 if that's what you like. No hard feelings either way. Which will you feel more comfortable with and which will you shoot better?

    The 6906 is a compact w/ a 12 rnd mag but it will accept 5906 15, 20,
or 30 rnd mags, but the 5906 wont take the shorter 12 rndrs.

Thanks for all the input guys.

By the way the 5906 is $350 and the Glock is $330 plus shipping.

Wish I could afford both but I already told the Wife I'd buy her the Sterling.
