Hello,

My name is Thomas (Tom) Bates. I am a retired police officer from Connersville. Having served over half my life (26+ years) I was sent packing after diabetes caused mobility issues. Seems they frown on officers occasionally using a cane or a walker.

I now keep busy by teaching my grandchildren the skills involved in safe firearms handling and operation. I also tinker around in my garage trying to restore my John Deere garden tractor and keep my granddaughter's go-cart running.

I am a newbie collector and builder of AR-15 type firearms and I hope to draw from the experiences of other INGunOwner Forum members as I continue this pursuit.
