Will be interesting to see what comes of all the secession talk. What do you think would/could happen if say, a state like Texas, had had enough and said adios?? I would be willing to bet the .gov would go on a emo-war-rampage and administer military action to bring them back. Ideas?
How exactly do you think the civil war started? Do you think they just one day woke up and said to themselves "hey, lets go out and secede today"? or do you suppose there was long deliberate and gradual movement in that direction? I'm pretty sure (100%) that it was a gradual thing and they only declared secession after they felt EVERY other option had been attempted and or taken away. We ARE running out of other legitimate choices with each failure to convince the government to do as we wish the way it is written. At SOME point there will be but one choice left, I just pray it happens before it is too late (well, actually I would prefer a return to governance by the people for the people but that obviously isn't going to happen).Nothing. People are signing online petitions. Pretty sterile method don't you think? Few are willing to get their hands dirty. This will die down.

I am thinking that Denny doesn't see there being enough of the populous that has enough backbone and will to go through with it. And I have to admit that I have a hard time finding fault with that thought. I don't think that the American people in general have the stomach for the kind of fight. It would be bloody and pervasive. let's face it, most Americans are weenies. it's not a slam, (wellll) its a fact.

Exactly. It is easy to get people to sign a petition online. It is a totally different world to believe they will do more than that. People will moan and groan, sign petitions, post snarky commentary on Facebook, and that is about it. Those that want to do something concrete (right or wrong) are far too few to get it done (that might be a good thing depending on the perspective). This board is NOT representative of the general population, petition or not. I think sometimes we get lost here in thinking that.
The COP thumbs his nose at public - too "chicken" to start a riot.
Who's cranky because they haven't got to use their riot gear this year? Denny.
Wasn't it only 3 % of the population at the time that wanted or fought our last revolution ?
