Well my Mom Dad and I, went for our weekly range trip to Ceraland. My Dad bought a P22 for my Mom. We took it so she could try it out. She said that she did not really like it. Took my Buckmark that I just installed a scope on last night. The scope was off the 10/22 I just bought. Well it is not worth a damn, so I took it off. With the sun being so bright, you could not see the reticle.
Ran into a fellow Ingo member "SPORTER". Who by the way is a very nice guy. He let me shoot his AK, which was a very nice rifle. He also tried to help me with my 10/22 issue. Did not have the the tools we needed though. We chatted for quit a bit. It was nice to met a fellow member.
Still had issues with my 10/22. If you hold the trigger to the rear and rack the bolt, the trigger does not reset. So I'm going to see what I can do. If I can not resolve the problem, then I'm taking it back to Acme.
Also ran into a gentleman who resides in Indy, but was camping at the park. He was a Marine during Vietnam, and is a retired LEO. He had his son with him, who just graduated from his Navel A school. We talked a bit and they where nice people. He even shook my hand and thanked me for my service. I returned the favor, and also thanked his son.
He even let me fire his 1903 Springfield. I have never picked one up, let alone fire one. That thing is built like a tank, and kicked like a mule. Heavy as hell too. Nothing like firing a piece of American Military history.
So despite the issues with my scope, and my 10/22. It turned out to be a pretty good range day. I got to met a fellow member, talk with a Veteran, met a proud young Sailor, and shoot a piece of Military history.
