Yeah they are doing it one bite at a time, just like squirrels take down more trees than lightning does. One small bite at a time but over time a whole forest is gone. People get ready.

So if all are banned in city do the police have to revert back to revolvers? Interesting to see if it sticks. And how they go about enforcing it. SO all you people that said this kind of thing would never pass what say you now? So it isn't IL YET. And it is in violation of their states law as well as the 2nd. These pesky city people DO NOT CARE I think the same will be true in many more places very soon.

    Aren't revolvers semiautomatic?

Not seeing this one stick yet. They have a state law preemption law. They can not pass local legislation more restrictive that state law. But there has already been one attempt to overthrow that law and looks like there will be another attempt this year as well.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the courts.

The NRA-ILA link is pretty misleading. The resolution that was passed was a formal request to the state legislature to pass a law that will allow cities to enact their own gun control. No laws have changed, the city council just passed a piece of paper that will be sent to the state requesting that they consider getting rid of the state preemption law.
