Sharpshooter
I hope the mods are okay with this. You folks have all been pretty good around here and may be able to share my concern.
I am humbled and saddened to be asking for help, but I must. I am out of all but the most extreme options. My wife just a couple weeks ago got a letter than she is being deported. Deportation comes with a 10 year ban. We have found an attorney and could get our initial hearing date letter any day. We have little kids and virtually no extra money. I have sold most of my guns and knives and am left in a deficit. I have start a GoFundMe. I understand some of you are in greater hardship than I, and I simply ask for your prayers.
Here is the details.
----------------
My wife, Vivi, came to the US 2 years before I met her. She left Indonesia escaping persecution against Christians and the riots that were destroying Jakarta. She applied for Asylum and got it. We fell in love and were married in 2002. Shortly after getting married we started down the path to Naturalized Citizenship by applying for Permanent Residency. We now have two wonderful little boys, to which she has been the stay at home mom for the last 6 years. Last year we applied for Naturalized Citizenship and she just started a new job now that the kids are older and all was going well.
Just a few weeks ago, we received a letter from Immigration hoping they had approved her application and we would be off to her ceremony, instead, it was the worst news we could imagine. She was to be removed from the US. She is to be deported.
The letter stated that because information on her Asylum Application is different than her Permanent Resident Application, one of those was obtained fraudulently and is invalid. Without a valid status she is considered "illegal" and subject to deportation.
We immediately realized we needed an attorney and started contacting people around us and attorneys in the area and were finally able to find one who agreed to take on the case.
The reason we are asking for help is that we have for the last 7 or 8 years been operating on a budget deficit the last 9 months of each year and relied on my overtime during tax season to offset the deficit each year. We literally have zero extra money. Neither Vivi nor I make much money but we are blessed to have a good home and two wonderful boys and God has always provided enough to take care of us. Now our daycare expense is much more and uses almost all of Vivi's income so we are not in much better of a situation although now Vivi has the freedom she has been missing and a starting position with a great employer that could provide a wonderful career. That is worth the extra cost. We drained our savings to pay the initial retatiner, and have run a generous projected budget in MS Excel and we are still short by $6500 to pay the legal fees the attorney requires. He is a good attorney and one of the cheapest we could find. Our last option is to start selling furniture, my truck, and take on additional debt. The last resort would be to sell our home that we love and move into a small apartment, which would save us maybe $100-$200 each month and free up some room in our budget. Our house unfortunately is probably not worth what we owe on it however and I really don't want to do this option.
We come to you begging for help. Deportation comes with a 10 year ban on entering the US.
I understand some have more extra than others and I do not wish anyone to upset their own financial concerns to help, but if you have anything extra, we would be extremely grateful.
Humbly and sincerely, may God bless you,
Thank you
Richard, Vivi Bryant and Family"
