Interesting. I would agree what he is touting would serve most carriers well enough. Still not for me.
I am not a good enough shot to count on a single stack weapon.
He lost me with the line, "The days of the .45 ACP and the Magnum revolver being the image of defensive handguns are gone. I agree that there are some great small size 9mm and .380 caliber handguns, but to totally disregard .45acp and magnum calibers is just ignorant if you ask me. Many police departments are switching to these calibers because they are more effective.
Not trying to start another caliber debate here.
I'd like to try shooting a single stack. I have only held them at the gun shop.
I knew that would rile some. If you think about it though, what he says is correct. I am not saying those guns are not better, just that with the average modern gun toter they are becoming less popular.
They are harder to hit than a double stack unless you aim at the sides.

For realz? I just feel better having the extra rounds and the better shootability of a mid sized blaster. That new 4 inch XDS is intriguing though. Except for that dang grip safety.
Just goes to show that a carry weapon is a very personal choice. His criteria work for him. While I agree with many of his points, there is no one gun that will work for everyone. I don't prefer a single stack and definitely not a striker fired weapon. To each his/her own.
