Police Action Shooting, Lafayette (just south of downtown). One officer reported slashed, rumor mill says stabbed in cheek (through both sides, screwdriver). Three rounds stop the attack.

Officer hospitalized. Alleged perp hospitalized.

Suspect "allegedly" stabbed officer in the face, according to local TV. Gotta love it; he's dead, what are they doing not prejudicing the jury? Oh wait...

Suspect on probation for dealing cocaine. Wonderful.
