IF you had a gun in your car, right?
Completely correct.

Anybody see the stunt this piece of work pulled in front of the House chamber on Tuesday?
Gary legislator pulls toy gun
Don't we? Come on with that hat and blankie they give out, all that's needed to complete the look is a cricket. He accused NRA members of wanting children given guns with their birth certificates,
Blessings,
Bill

But whats next? Reconciliation then another vote then on to the Gov.? Or can the Senate just vote on the House bill and pass it on to Mitch or vice versa?
I can't see it not passing but what kind of time line are we looking at?
How far off the employer's property are you? Are you insured? Do you have security to prevent someone from deciding you are a good place for a "five finger discount" on firearms? Even if you do, how does one get from your place to work? By patronizing your business, someone has just identified themselves as someone who is not armed between your place and their work. Have you not just identified those people for targeting by criminals?
The ramifications are not so simple once you start to think it through.
Guess I should have had a disclaimer stating the preceeding was meant for comedic relief and not to be taken seriously?
It would have worked better as "comedy" if it weren't for the fact that it's not too far off what folk who disagree with SB25 have suggested as the "fix."
Again, my original post was just meant to be so over the top that one should have taken it with a grain of salt, especially when the title was clearly marked as containing sarcasm. But, I digress.
Hmm.. well, I'd missed your sarcasm note, too. We've taken to using a new convention lately where sarcasm is in purple, and that really helps avoid these types of misunderstandings and digressions. Can't you do anything right?!
No, I can't. Just like this one time, I read a post and sent my representative a letter asking him to support a bill only to find out he was a co-sponsor.
Actually, that really did happen to me.
I got a reply from my state senator today.
Caleb: Thank you for your e-mail. I am a co-author on this bill.
Doh!
Next time, I'll remember to do a tad more research before writing my rep to make sure that I don't look like a fool!
Caleb
ETA - my state senator is Senator Kruse.
You either have a very good memory — and put it to excellent use in that retort — or that was one heck of a coincidence. Cuz I did that, too.
So if you intended that as a jab, "well played, sir."
Having said that, the amendment was drafted and offered by Representative Bischoff, the chairman of the committee. There were several members of the Republican caucus who were concerned about this portion of the bill when it was heard on 2nd reading. However, the language was preserved as Republicans do not hold the majority in the House of Representatives.
It sounds like she's saying "We couldn't get it passed with the language we wanted. This is the best we can do for now, with Democrats controlling the House. Vote Republican!"
Just my impression of reading between the lines of political speak.
