I’m working on 1883, the wife says it’s too slow so I gotta find time to watch it. Those are definitely all solid remakes. Need to look into Open Range and I can’t believe I still haven’t seen tombstone. Gotta see if it’s streaming.I have a hard time watching the old ones despite my best effort. But as for remakes and new ones… you’ve probably seen but if you haven’t they are worth the watch obviously tombstone, 3:10 to Yuma, 1883 the series (possibly my favorite out of all the choices), open range, magnificent 7, true grit. I know you die hard western people will be all over me for liking the remakes lol
Fantastic thank you! I’ll start working through these! In no particular order
Hombre
True Grit (I like both versions)
3:10 to Yuma (both versions)
Magnificent 7 (original)
The Wild Bunch
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
The Outlaw Josie Wales
Once Upon a Time in the West (great opening scene)
Tombstone
Winchester 73
The Ox-Bow Incident

Hell or High Water
The Shootist

Yea I was checking out some of the lists. I’ve already got suggestions here that I haven’t seen on the lists. Thanks for the recommendations!I forgot Silverado & Blazing Saddles.
One of my Mom's favorites was The Sons of Katie Elder with Big Jake a close second (or just about any John Wayne Western).
Five Card Stud is a pretty good western with an interesting cast, Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum and Yaphet Kotto.
The best western TV series was Have Gun, Will Travel - IMO.
There are plenty of best western lists on the internet.
