The styling will be controversial, for sure, but I like the looks. The new cowling looks like it will allow for easier servicing, too. This is reportedly an all-new design, starting with the engine block. It brings their emissions rating to 3 star, making it the only engine in its power range to achieve that. In fact, it is reportedly the lowest emission outboard ever made. Pretty amazing, considering it is a 2 stroke. 500 hours between maintenance visits, too.
I'll never be able to afford one, but I love seeing innovation. In the mean-time, I'll be getting my 40 Evinrude Etec wet today for a little bit of fishing at Raccoon Lake, with a few of my kids.
