I'm going to go "Old School" on Bambi this year. Sold a couple of guns, and just picked this up.

Had to sell this to get it.

Which was a shame, it was a great shooting ol gun. And the wood was really nice on it, too. Also a .44. A buddy of mine got the henry, and thinks the lever action is really smooth. What do you think?

Nice gun!! But isn't old school, shooting with a bow? A rifle kinda takes the fun out of true deer hunting. :twocents:

What kind of ammo have you been running through it?

Can't we go back to dropping rocks on there heads, I mean really itsnt that truly old school?

    Henry Big Boy, .44 mag.

I guess I could start throwing rocks at them. I would probably get one in my front yard around midnight under the bird feeder. Talk about hunting over bait with a silencer!

I tried bow hunting. It's ok, but there is no recoil or a loud noise to let you know to start field dressing.

My understanding is that the Henry Big Boy is an excellent rifle, it sure looks nice too.

    Congratulations on your new rifle.

I got my deer with a lever rifle last fall, it is fun. I am "old school" too.
