Had to post about the new addition to the family. Broke it out for the trial run at today's IDPA match. Ran like a top and I couldn't be happier! Gen 4 Glock 34

Got a 34-4 a couple of months ago with my GSSF coupon and I'm impressed with it. I've been on the fence where the Gen 4s are concerned but after the 34s performance no more fence sitting.
My plan is to give the IDPA a try this year when the weather breaks and I have the 34 prepped and ready.

The grip looks better than other glocks, is it much different?

Very VERY grippy! Plus the Gen4 Glock's standard grip size is small but very comfortable. I surprised myself by choosing the smallest set up (no additional back strap at all) despite preferring a larger grip in just about every gun I normally shoot. My favorite gun is my Glock 21 and I figured I'd slap the largest of the straps on and call it good but after trying all of them and then running Saturday's IDPA match, I'm sold on the no-blackstrap set up.

Next outing you'll have to see what you think!

It's hard to beat the Glock 34 for IDPA or home defense. I have probably put 15-20k rounds through 34's over the years and never had a problem. I ran one of them close to 7k rounds without cleaning about 10 years ago.

I ran mine with sandpaper grip tape. It was ugly but extremely functional.
