Every member of my family knows to announce themselves in a particular way that we've all agreed on (that's not just yelling "it's me!").
We also have a way of letting each other know from behind a closed door whether we are under duress.
    Overkill? Maybe.
Paranoid? If you want to call it that.
Safer than the Joe Schmoe family down the street. You bet.

    I almost believe you.
    Not quite, but almost.

It is a rule that I make both my wife and me follow, as soon as the door opens, no matter what time it is, we immediately announce we are home.

Also everyone, and I do mean everyone in our family never enters unannounced.
We want them to call as soon as the hit the driveway.

I'd rather be awaken by a ringing phone than having to spring out of bed thinking we got BG's coming in.

Last night I was out on the couch watching tv around 3am, I heard a loud crash in the bedroom. I heard another and another within 15 seconds of each other. I grabbed my pistol went in there expecting to see some punk who broke through my window and raping my woman/stealing my stuff. I flip the light on and my girlfriend tells me she was trying to get my attention as she was in the mood. AT 3AM. Needless to say, I got no nookie at 3am and spent the rest of the night on the couch . haha.

I'm going to be sorry I asked, but crashing? WT!?!? Crashing what? :dunno:
My wife might call to me or even come out and get me, but "crashing" would make me think she was upset.
