    as to the suppression level they were designed to make a 11.5 barrel sound like a 20 standard barrel. so not really that much suppression

    more just knocks down some of the concussion

    There's a really cool post on ArFcOm a long time ago about someone purchasing an M16 (story was about the 70"s maybe) and it came with a moderator.
    ATF came down on Colt (illegal suppressors) for those and Colt had to get them back.
    Dude really wanted to keep it, so Colt had to engrave a serial number on it and then dude had to pay for a tax stamp.
